The Forbes Group has its origins dating back to the late 1950s, and is a major force in the field of plastics fabrications.
A privately owned group of companies, managed by a tightly knit team, with strong financial & technical bases. We are dedicated to the design and manufacture of tanks, vessels, scrubbers, degassers and other chemical plant in thermoplastics and glass fibre reinforced materials.
Everyone within the company is dedicated to supplying our customers with high quality products at competitive prices, without jeopardising the well being of the staff, the public at large and the environment.
We strive towards continual company improvement and aspire to provide standards of excellence, efficiency and service that make Forbes a comfortable organisation to deal with.
The Forbes Group head office, design and administration offices are located in a purpose built sales & design office completed in 2008 in Crimplesham, located just outside Downham Market, Norfolk.
The manufacturing sites – totaling over 20,000 m2 are located on Pinnaclehill Industrial Estate, Kelso, Roxburghshire, UK, and includes a new Automated Plant, commissioned in 2013 to produce large thermoplastic tanks. There are now five purpose built factories, four of which are dedicated to plastics manufacture, the fifth being used solely for fabrication of metal accessories, such as ladders and walkways, mainly in stainless steels and carbon steels.
A dedicated VPN link ensures all sites operate as one, enabling users to access the data they require anywhere within one of our facilities. As well as administrative data the network handles all of our voice, video and CNC communications.
In 1994, Forbes were the first company in their field to achieve accreditation to BS EN ISO 9001: in formal recognition of their long established quality systems. We are now accredited to BS EN ISO 9001:2015.
Fabrications are to the highest specifications as stated in industry standards such as BS4994:1987, BS EN 12573 and DVS 2205.
Our extensive “in house” capabilities include mechanical engineering design along with chemical process design.
We utilise a comprehensive Autodesk 3D design suite giving us next generation modelling, drafting and visualisation tools from within the Inventor Professional system with the added benefits of finite element analysis (FEA).
